What can i put without changing alternator?

Hey i have a 2000 avalon with a stock alternator. I want to put a sub in it something that can rock the whole school parking lot. I want to know what is the max amount of watts you can put in that car without destroying or having problems with your car. this is without any extra battery i m just talking about sub and amp. also what is the max RMS i can put in if i get a battery too but still the stock alternator.

i was looking at Orion HCCA 12.2. is that feisable with the AQ amp?? just by doing big 3 and getting a battery will that be fine??|||Adding a battery will only help if your car is OFF, you can play your system longer before your battery dies. It%26#039;s the alternator that%26#039;s doing most of the work when your car is ON. %26#039;Big 3%26#039; will only help your alternator achieve higher efficiency, but it%26#039;s still limiter by how many amps it can put out.

You need to find out your alternator%26#039;s ampere rating, I think it%26#039;s a 100A(amps) alternator for an avalon(but im not sure). 30-50% of those amps goes to your car.

Let%26#039;s say your car uses 40%, 100A x 40% = 60A.

You%26#039;re left with 60 amps for your sound system, your amplifier should have a fuse rating no bigger than 60A.

That%26#039;s about 760W-860W RMS max for your system when your car is ON.

You can have a 2000W amplifier playing loud with your car OFF, but the battery wont last long. You can use that same amplifier when the car is ON, but you have to set the gains down or play at low Volume. If you play your music loud while the car is ON with a big amplifier, you%26#039;ll kill your alternator.

Getting a good custom box makes a big difference on how loud your subs can get. Get a sub with higher sensitivity rating if you plan to use a small amp.|||a 2000 watt RMS sub?

You%26#039;ll definitely need to upgrade your alt., stock alternators are often only selected with the features your vehicle has in mind.

If your vehicle was an SUV, or a larger vehicle,

you could%26#039;ve probably gotten about 1000-1400 watts without significant dimming.

But a car.. not really sure how much it can handle...

i%26#039;d guess about 700watts without significant dimming WITH the big 3 upgrade.

It also depends on the efficiency of your amp,

how well it converts DC(power) into AC(audio signal).
